IDeaL Foundation ScholarshipsThe Jones-Price Memorial Scholarship: Originally created as the Vincent Jones memorial scholarship upon the passing of Vincent Jones in the mid-1980’s. When Michael Price passed in 1990, the scholarship was revised to honor the two men, and adopted the name that it holds today. The Preston Yarber Memorial Scholarship: Created to honor Mr. Yarber, who was the first African-American Program Director at the local affiliate for NBC. This scholarship was initiated as a joint effort between NBC and the IDL Education Foundation to support a young male interested in a career in the electronic media. It was later revised to include individuals interested in all forms of media (including print and electronic). The Erwin France Memorial Scholarship: Created in 1996 to honor the late Erwin France, a prominent figure in the City of Chicago for his work in Public Administration. |
